In order to get FTP to work via DW you must activate the crappy 3 page GUI SiteBuilder via Portal then you can FTP to the cheaper $10 site.

How do I set up Microsoft Outlook to connect to my Exchange mailbox?
Only Microsoft Outlook 2007 and Microsoft Outlook 2003 (SP2) can be used to connect to your Comcast mailbox with "Full Access" (MAPI).
To connect Microsoft Outlook 2007, you must use the AutoDiscover configuration method.
To connect Microsoft Outlook 2003, you will need to download a configuration profile generated by Comcast. * Neither client can be manually configured to connect to a mailbox.

• To set up Microsoft Outlook 2007 to connect to your Exchange Service mailbox using Exchange AutoDiscover:

1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel, click Mail, click Show Profiles, and then click Add.
2. Type a profile name, and then click OK.
3. Type your name, e-mail address, and your mailbox password twice, and then click Next.
4. When you get a security prompt, select the Don't ask me about this website again check box, and then click Allow.
5. When prompted for your Username and Password, use your e-mail address for Username.
6. Microsoft Outlook 2007 will now discover your e-mail settings and configure itself to connect to your Exchange Service mailbox. Once this is done, click Finish. Then, you can open your new profile in Microsoft Outlook.

• To set up Microsoft Outlook 2003 to connect to your Exchange Service mailbox using the Profile Generator:

1. Go to https://mail.hmc1.comcast.net/Outlook2003
2. In Step One Enter you mailbox username and password and click Authenticate.
3. After successful authentication click Download.
4. When the File Download dialogue box pops up select Open.
5. Microsoft Outlook 2003 will launch and a dialogue box asking you if you want to import this profile. Select Yes.
6. Microsoft Outlook 2003 will import the profile and launch.

Comcast DSN Servers to point to from registrar (for email, website and sharepoint to work):

Then login to http://businessclass.comcast.net to manage create/accounts

*marinnewtworking.com is pointed there from dotster as test account

Configure Smart Phones - loginto Business Portal - click HELP... Search for Mobile Devices
http://businessclass.comcast.net and search for type of phone (it's different for all!)

iPhone URL/Server for Exchange is mail.hmc1.comcast.net

Comcast Router/Modem Notes:
http://10.1.10.1 cusadmin/highspeed (SMC all in one)

If you want to use Static IP's on your own router/Linksys instead of the SMC DHCP put it in "modem/bridge" mode by:

ON FIREWALL TAB
check off Disable Firewall for True Static IP
check off Disable Gateway Smart Packet Detection - comcast techs don't even know what this is but say it causes problems with SSL "sometimes" - they say wack it.

1 to 1 NAT TAB (off firewall tab)
Check "Disable all"

ON LAN TAB
Uncheck Enable LAN DHCP (this turns off DHCP but you can still get to 10.1.10.1 behind your own Linksys etc...) Also, add 1 OpenDNS here... just in case (Comcast DNS has issues)
Now you can plug in a Linksys to one of the 4 ports and set it as Static WAN 75.x.x.x.x and do NAT
Log in for Portal (email, Exchange) http://businessclass.comcast.net addtioanlly, you can add a second public/static IP into one of the other 3 remaining ports on the comcast modem...cool.

Comcast Home (and maybe Business) SMTP
smtp.comcast.net now requires auth and on port 587 w/ no SSL (or maybe TLS like mine below)

Little update:

If you get blocked from sending email out of Comcast's residential service on port 25 you then must use port 587 with auth. This means you got flagged as a spammer. They do not do this to Business users... although, you cannot relay you@you.com to smtp.hover.com - you must then use smtp.comcast.net and auth with a valid comast email and password - port 25 is ok for business users.

OPT out of their new DNS services (now on by default) https://dns-opt-out.comcast.net

MANAGE CALLS USING COMCAST PHONES/HOME
If you go to comcast.net/smartzone, look under preferences and there will be a bunch of sub menus. One is "Call Manager" which itself has four sub-menus where you can set up your phones, # of rings, etc. One of these submenus is called "Notifications" where you can put in your non-comcast email address for notifications of voice mail
